Freida Pinto proud of her roots

18th March 2013

Indian actress Freida Pinto has carved a niche for herself in Hollywood after she made her debut as an actress with 'Slumdog Millionaire' in 2008. She has since worked with biggies like Danny Boyle, James Franco, Woody Allen and Christian Bale in the last five years of her career.

Though she is a big name in Hollywood, the actress claims that she has not forgotten her Indian roots. Freida, who will soon be seen opposite Raj Kumar Yadav in her Bollywood debut, is happy that Indian films finally belong to the current age.

An Ardent fan of Smita Patil, Freida states that she would love to star in the remake of her 1987 film 'Mirch Masala'.

"I am proud of Indian origins and will always be so. I am looking forward to work in India and am extremely happy with the kind of work is being done. We are increasingly becoming responsible in preseting our work to the world and that is a very positive sign," said Freida.
