Gun for Glory academy, which Im starting in association with the help of Pune based Sports NGO LAKSHYA is being started with a goal to provide India with more medals during 2016 Olympics and other international tournaments he added. At the Gun for Glory Academy Gagan will be administered by Indian shooting teams Asst. Coach Pawan Singh and international ace shooter Ronak Pandit will also be the consulting Director at the academy to help young and talented shooters. The meticulously designed world class academy will be situated at the Balewadi complex shooting range, which is one of the best in the country and will provide all features needed to build a champion shooter such as Foreign Coaches, Sports Injury Management Team, Physiotherapist, Foreign Armorer, Yoga Guru, Dietitian, Masseur, Gun testing facility, Equipment control & Psychologist among others, informed Mr. Narang.

This is an ambitious project where we are hiring three full time coaches from abroad. Raising funds for such a mammoth project is Herculean task. I am looking for main sponsors, associate sponsors and different partners. Im also extremely happy that a Sports NGO like Lakshya has decided to train top talented players selected from all over the country free of cost at our academy. They are also providing initial logistic support. However, to run the academy, finance is a major constraint. We have taken big risk. But I am sure that corporate will come forward and support the noble cause.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Swastik, Spokesperson of LAKSHYA, said were thrilled to support Gagan and his team to start such a novel concept, we formed LAKSHYA with a aim of creating and supporting sportspersons to achieve the highest level in their sport and bring laurels for India, and supporting an creation of a world class academy like this will surely accelerate the progress of our sports-persons. One player can get training in this academy for full year for a cost of one week of training abroad. This is the step we were just looking for. I am sure many corporate, PSU, NGO and state government will send their promising players to this academy. Unless, all of us join hands, we cannot create winners. Gagan has provided the platform for the same.

The academy will offer both short term and long term training programmes ranging from 15 day courses to residential yearly training, and would encompass Indian International shooters and coaches as mediators as well as coaches. The distance learning program will involve 100 days training at Balewadi. Gagan Narang added, Gun for Glory academy in addition to providing advance training to the shooters will provide high-quality specialist coaching and coach education to Indian coaches who will be trained for in advance training techniques, and optimal use and development of sports sciences. The other salient features of the academy will be training by foreign coaches for both Rifle & Pistol. The Training details would be from basics development to advance training with utilization of Scatt, video analyzers and Equipment control for all equipments according to ISSF specifications. The courses will offer shooters facilities, Gun testing facility (Testing each barrel & select best pellets for particular barrel and maintain availability for 1 year training), Peak Performance Management, Psychologist working on mental toughness, Masseur for Conventional and Panchakarma massages for normalizing stressed muscles, along with Assistance for academics (school), and stay tie- up.

LAKSHYA in turn will be adopting few top shooters who will get free training in this academy including free stay, free traveling (for tournament etc) and free equipment and supporting the academy by way of administrative management. Lakshya will also select five players from Maharashtra state government run Krida Prabodhini scheme who will be trained at the academy.
