Gauthami is a fan of Indian art

23rd February 2012

Popular South Indian actress Gauthami, who hails from Andhra Pradesh, said on Wednesday that the global market is supportive of Indian Art.

Speaking at a press meet to announce Art Chennai, an exhibition set to take place in the capital city of Tamil Nadu from 11th March to 18th March, she said that inclusiveness of art should have a trickledown effect reaching to the lowest denominator.

She added that the mega event will showcase art’s indefinable and quantifiable aspects and its innate ability to connect cultures and lives across boundaries.

CII chairman T Ashok said that art and tourism has and can further foster economic and cultural growth. He added that with 15 per cent growth in hospitality, India is the fifth most sought after global tourist destination.

Anticipated to be the event of the year, Art Chennai gears up for its sequel of extravaganza. With the entire Art fraternity curious, the confluence from 11th March – 18th March 2012 is all set to put Chennai in global art foray.

Convenor Art Chennai Sanjay Tulsyar said that the event will broaden its horizon incorporating many art performances under its umbrella.
