(Cover) - EN Showbiz - George Clooney has made his first official appearance since splitting from girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis last month.

The actor was pictured in Cancun, Mexico earlier today at a photocall for his new movie The Ides of March.

The 50-year-old eternal bachelor was casual in jeans and a white T-shirt, and smiled broadly showing no signs of heartbreak.

At the end of June George and Elisabetta called it quits on their union after two years together.

A friend close to the actor said that he always knew that he wouldn't be with the Italian model for very long.

"I always knew that it wouldn't last," Manuele Malenotti said recently to Chi magazine.

"All I can say is that George, when it comes to love, has decided that he is not going to get married again and he is not going to have any children and he won't change his mind."

Another insider claimed to Us Weekly that 32-year-old Elisabetta was obsessed with the limelight.

"On vacations, she'd spend forever in her room, primping in her bikini, then go strolling on the beach for photographers to snap pictures of her," the source said. (C) Cover Media
