Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Haider' has won the People's Choice Award in the world genre at the ninth edition of Rome Film Festival. Vishal and Shahid Kapoor were in Rome to receive the award.

A proud Shahid Kapoor took to twitter to express his delight. He wrote, "People's choice in the main category at the Rome film festival .. A first for an Indian film . #haider . Proud and humbled(sic)"

His co-star Shraddha Kapoor too followed him and tweeted, "We WON! #Haider - the 1st Indian film to win the main category of people's choice award at Rome film festival! So humbled, grateful & proud!."

With 'Haider', Vishal has completed the trilogy of making the screen adaptation of William Shakespeare's great works.
