The British-born, Aussie-raised actress Naomi Watts turns 44 today. Apparently the multiple Oscar nominated actress struggles to find work that almost prompted her to quit the profession. For years, Watts appeared on television and in several films. It took her 10 years before she "made it".

The film that changed the course of her career and made her one of the most respected and a sought-after actress of her generation was David Lynch's acclaimed mystery Mulholland Drive in 2001.

The Gorgeous actress caught both audiences and critics attention with her outstanding performances in numerous films like 21 Grams which earned her an Oscars nomination for best actress category.

The actress further received recognition with films like Huckabees, King Kong, The Painted Veil, Eastern Promises,  Mother and Child,  Fair Game , and Clint Eastwood's J. Edgar.

Once romantically linked to actor Heath Ledger, Watts has found happiness with actor Liev Scheiber.
