With a career spanning decades as an actor and director, Robery DeNiro turns 69 today with a rock solid reputation as one of the all-time greats in film.

Robert De Niro was born August 17, 1943, left school at age 16 to study acting with Stella Adler. He then worked with many acclaimed film directors like Brian DePalma, Elia Kazan, and, most significantly with Martin Scorsese. De Niro has worked with award winning director Martin Scorcese in some of the most celebrated films of all time, including Raging Bull, Mean Streets, Goodfellas, and Casino.

The legendary has won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Vito Corleone in The Godfather: Part 2 in 1974 and received an Oscar for best actor in Ranging Bull. Since then, he direct, produce, and acted in several movies portraying a mobsters, loners, and tough guys.

Earlier this year, De Niro was in the film “Red Lights” and will be seen in quite a lot of movies in years to come. Friday Moviez wishes De Niro a very Happy Birthday!
