(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Helena Bonham Carter has joked all she did was wobble to get a Golden Globe nomination.
The gothic-looking star is nominated as best supporting actress for her role as Queen Elizabeth in period drama The Kings Speech, which is about British King George IVs speech impediment. The royal is played by Colin Firth.
But the striking Londoner says she didnt put that much effort into the part and just spent time bobbing about. Helena only knew she was on the list at all after a conversation with an acquaintance.
[I just] wobble in the background, the 44-year-old told USA Today. I only found out because a friend phoned.
The movie has been rewarded with seven Golden Globe nominations including best picture, and the winners are set to be revealed on January 16.
Helena revealed everyone involved was surprised at the attention the low-budget movie has received. She said her, and her colleagues, efforts normally go unseen in this type of release.
We're so used to making really bad films or small, independent films that no one sees, which is a shame because often that's when you do your best work, she explained. (C) Cover Media
