(Cover) - EN Fashion - Hilary Swank says she likes to be hands-on when it comes to choosing her outfits.

The beautiful movie star always looks glamorous on the red carpet and regularly features on the best-dressed lists of various fashion magazines.

Hilary admits she does sometimes employ stylist to the stars Tanya Gill, although in general she prefers to compose her own signature look.

I like to be hands-on with what Im wearing, she told Womens Wear Daily.

The Oscar-winning actresss favourite designers include Escada, Calvin Klein and Guy Laroche, although Hilary confesses she has got a little out of touch with the fashion world since she moved out of New York City.

I dont live in New York anymore, so Im not as up on my fashion, she explained.

The star does still try to fit in as many fashion shows as she can though, and recently returned to the city to attended Pamella Rolands Spring 2011 presentation as part of New York Fashion Week.

I know people who know her, but we just met. I just became aware of her clothes recently, Hilary said of the designer. (C) Cover Media
