Hollywood filmmaker Ang Lee's latest film 'Life of Pi' has been reaping rewards for its cinematic excellence post its worldwide release. But the film's lead star Irrfan Khan who played the role of Pi Patel in the movie, is surprised by the response the film has got in India.
He is happy with the thundering response the film has got critically and commercially in India. "way our audience hs absorbed n embraced th complexity n simplicity of LOPwth such eagerness, it's a great sign for our film industry!Jai ho!" wrote Irrfan on his microblogging page.
He further added, that the new found love for experimental cinema in India will be a huge boost for films. "This new audience is going to hugely affect our film making , we r going 2 see a diverse n dynamic film industry. Thanks to all film lovers," he added.
The film featuring debutant Suraj Sharma, Tabu and Irrfan in prominent roles is the screen adaptation of the book with the same name.
