Imtiaz Ali is known to make films that appeal to the masses in a genuine way. When he made 'Rockstar' with Ranbir Kapoor, the audiences were enthralled with the storyline and Ranbir's performance. No doubt the actor went through a tough time working with Imtiaz. Seems like young star Alia Bhatt too is slogging it out in the shoot of her upcoming film 'Highway'.

The director is neither allowing Alia to stay in a hotel nor is he providing a vanity van for her. Imtiaz wants her to understand the character, hence Alia is seen sleeping on the ground, eating local food and almost living with local people.

Though the schedule seems tiresome for Alia, she isn't complaining as Alia feels she needs to do this, as this film will establish her as an actress.

Starring Alia playing the female lead, the film also stars Randeep Hooda in the male lead.
