Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi has impressed her critics and audiences with splendid performances in films like 'Gangs of Wasseypur', 'Dedh Ishqiya', etc. But not many know that the actress though doesn't belong to a film background, she still honed her skills well before entering the film industry.
Before she entered films, she was associated with a lot of theatre groups in Delhi. She has performed several times on stage but with films, she has tasted blood. And she wants to devote herself completely to the film.
Though there are actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi and Paresh Rawal who manage careers both in theatre and on the big screen, Huma isn't interested in doing so. She exclaims that she wants to focus entirely on films.
"Theatre is an actor's medium since everything there is very instant. The moment you perform a scene on stage, the reaction comes instantly, which is very gratifying for an actor. But my love for cinema has taken over my love for theatre. Cinema has such a vast reach. There are people from different parts of the world who I’ll probably never meet in person, but they know me because they have seen my work in films. I guess, in that sense, I've become greedier. I want more and more," said Huma as she substantiates her decision with a strong explanation.
