Jackson family staying near court'

4th November 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Michael Jackson's mother and father are reportedly staying at a hotel near the courthouse where the trial related to his death has taken place.

The superstar singer died of acute Propofol intoxication and his personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray has been accused of his involuntary manslaughter. He's denied the allegations, but has been on trial in Los Angeles.

The jury was sent to deliberate over their verdict earlier today. The court will be given two hours' notice once a decision has been made so those involved in the case can make it to court.

Members of Michael's family have been in court during most of the trial.

TMZ now reports his mother and father, Katherine and Joe, have decided to stay in a hotel near the courthouse to ensure they can get there quickly once the verdict is returned.

"Katherine and Joe live in Calabasas - with traffic, it could take over two hours to get to the courthouse... and we're told, they just didn't want to chance missing a beat," reports the site.

The pair are said to be planning to stay in the hotel for as long as is needed. At the moment it's not known whether Michael's siblings will chose to rent rooms nearby too.

The jury are currently going through evidence but must return a unanimous verdict.

Michael used powerful anaesthetic Propofol to ease his insomnia. Murray has admitted treated him with it, but insists he didn't give the singer the fatal dose. (C) Cover Media
