(Cover) - EN Showbiz - James Franco was upset by the sex scene in the fourth Twilight book as it was such a letdown.
The actor hasnt read the entire Breaking Dawn novel, which was written by Stephenie Meyer. The film franchise is based on the books, and is the reason James started reading them. He is amazed by how popular Twilight has become, and by how famous the movies stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are.
In the books, Roberts character, vampire Edward Cullen, and Kristens Bella Swan have a difficult relationship. Their troubled romance becomes serious in the fourth instalment, when things become physical.
I haven't read the last one! I kind of know what happens... James said. I read a part of it. I think I got to the sex scene, but it was so brief, I didn't even know if it was the actual sex scene. It was kind of a letdown after all that build up.
James stopped short of confirming he is a fan of the books, but admits he is drawn to them. He is amazed by how much they have captured the imagination of fans, and cant help trying to figure out why they are so popular.
I wouldn't say I enjoy them, but I'm fascinated with them. I'm interested in the metaphor of the vampire placed in the high school setting and how a relationship with a vampire can stand in for general feelings that people have as teenagers, he told MTV. And the obsession people have with that is also fascinating to me. (C) Cover Media
