Noted Malayalam actor Jayaram, who is equally popular in Kollywood too, will play a crucial role in Vijay's next venture Thuppakki, being directed by A R Murugadoss.

While there is a buzz that Jayaram's character would come with negative shades, the actor is not ready to confirm it. 'It is true that I have played a baddie in films such as Saroja and Dhaam Dhoom. But I can't reveal anything about my role in Thuppakki at this point of time,' he says.

Happy about working with the likes of Vijay and Murugadoss, he says, 'Vijay is extremely down to earth, while Murugadoss is an extremely talented director. I am thankful to them for offering me a meaty role in Thuppakki.'

Produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu on a lavish budget, Thuppakki has Kajal Agarwal as the heroine. Some important portions of the movie were recently shot in and around Mumbai.
