Jeff Bridges laidback about award success

11th December 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jeff Bridges remains philosophical over whether he could receive another Oscar nomination.

The 61-year-old director has had a long and hugely successful Hollywood career, having appeared in hit films such as The Big Lebowski, Tron and Iron Man. Jeff received the coveted best actor Oscar earlier this year, for his portrayal of faded country singer Bad Blake in Crazy Heart, and some critics have suggested he may receive another nod for his role in the western True Grit.

Jeff plays Marshal Reuben J. Cogburn in the Coen brothers-directed film about a tough US marshal who helps a young lady hunt down her father's murderer. He refuses to get too caught up in all the praise he has been receiving for his role though and prefers to be more relaxed about whether he could receive another nomination, simply telling Empire magazine you never know.

The movie also stars Hollywood actor Matt Damon as La Boeuf, and the talented star also discussed True Grit with Empire. He believes the film is very special and recalled a conversation he had with the cinematographer Roger Deakins on set.

We were sitting by the camera during a set-up, and I whispered to him, I think this one might be special. And he said, Oh yeah. This one is, beamed Matt. (C) Cover Media
