Jessie J is impressed by the number of opportunities will.i.am has "in his pocket".
The singers are both mentors on the UK version of talent show The Voice, alongside Danny O'Donoghue and Sir Tom Jones.
Contestants on the programme have to choose one star to work with and Jessie is adamant about who she would plump for if she was in their shoes.
"[I'd chose will.i.am] because of the opportunities he has in his pocket. He knows a lot of artists I listened to growing up, he's fun and he'd understand the music I want to make," she told Company magazine.
"But I wouldn't enter [the show] myself in 20 years' time. I feel like I've worked hard enough to stay here, even if I end up behind closed doors doing make-up. I'll always be around."
Jessie is enjoying being on the show but is still making time to work on new tunes. She doesn't want the series to become the thing she is best known for.
"I was first to sign up because I was totally up for it. But when Tom Jones said he waited until he knew the line-up, I thought I should have, too.
"It's been scary at times but it's one thing in my life, not the only thing. My second album is my focus," she said.
