After months of threatening to chop his trademark sweeping mane, the singer has finally done so. The 16-year-old sensation snipped his signature hairstyle, going for a shorter and more grown-up look.

The Canadian-born star whose sweeping bangs were a firm favourite amongst fans took to the internet to confirm his trademark locks had indeed been cut.

Justins trusted hairdresser Vanessa Price worked her magic on the singers hair while he was on the set of a music promo for a song he did with Rascal Flatts. The bands bassist, Jay DeMarcus, prematurely tweeted a photo showcasing his new hairstyle. He deleted the post and added, "Ooooops! Sorry Bieber!!!!"

The photo has since been reposted on his account.
