CBFC upsets one more filmmaker and this time it is Madhur Bhandarkar who is suggested 14 cuts in his upcoming movie 'Indu Sarkar' set against the backdrop of Emergency.
According to the filmmaker, CBFC would pass the film only after chopping of certain names, dialogues mentioned in the film.
Dialogues such as 'Aur tum log jindagibhar Maa- Bete ki gulaami karte rahoge', 'Ab iss jesh mein Gandhi ke maayne badal chuke hai' and 'Bharat ki ek beti ne desh ko bandi banaya hua hai.'
Bhandarkar said, "We are very disappointed with the cuts they have asked for. Those dialogues were part of the censored trailer. Changing so many dialogues will change the essence of the film. We will go to the revising committee hoping we will get a clearance there."
He also tweeted, "Just got out of #InduSarkar film censor screening. Am appalled at the 14 cuts suggested by the committee. Will go to the revising committee."
"How can the dialogues in the trailer be deleted from the film? Am I missing some logic or are different yardsticks being used during censor? #InduSarkar."
In the recent past political leader, Sanjay Nirupam had requested the board for the special screening of the film for party to check if their former leaders are shown in bad light. However, CBFC clarified it as a clear matter between the makers and the political party.
Bhandarkar is also planning to visit the revising committee as he feels these many cuts will just take away the essence of the film.
'Indu Sarkar' will release on July 28, 2017.
