Justin Theroux doesn't need "CGI or glycerine drops" to convincingly cry on screen.
The actor plays hippy Seth in comedy Wanderlust, which also stars Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd. Justin says his acting was authentic in the movie when it came to shedding a few tears.
"Yes I do," he admitted when asked if he cries easily. "I was crying in the movie. Those were all real tears. Not CGI or glycerine drops."
Wanderlust follows a stressed married couple who try to escape modern society by moving to a commune in Georgia. Justin says the cast became a little too immersed in their characters.
"Yeah, we did, Yeah.... yeah," he mused when asked if he enjoyed making the film.
"We became the commune we were making fun of!"
However, Justin says he didn't become too involved with his character's way of living. The hunky star who found love with Jennifer on set insists he isn't into the "hippy style" approach to romance.
"No, I'm not into the free love. I just find that lifestyle very unappealing. There are certain aspects of it that are appealing. I think all of us in our lives look for little oasis, and I have little meditation things on my iPod that I listen to when I go to sleep. But I'm not going to make my day about them," he explained.
"I'm too nervous, and I'm too tightly wound to be a good hippy. I think that's why I liked the part he's so mellow.
"But I like schedule, I like routine."
