Kanteerava studio gets spruced up!!

The Karnataka state government has decided to give Kanteerava studios a new look, along the lines of Dr. Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad.

On the 12 acre land of Kanteerava studios, the favorite spot of Kannada film makers for mahurats and shootings, 10880 sq feet at a cost of Rs.1.5 crores, will have a shooting floor, and IT Park, a rustic village set-up, a city set-up, a shopping mall and a film theatre. Artists like Shashidhar Adapa and personalities from film fraternity are guiding the construction of the shooting floor to ensure that it fits their requirements.

The two floors will be named after the late Shanker Nag and river Cauvery. This is the place Dr. Rajakumar Memorial is also coming up on 2.5 acres of land. The Sri Kanteerava studio was evolved by veterans Gubbi Veeranna, KV Shankare Gowda, Rathnavarma Hegde and T.S.Karibasavaiah in 1966.
