(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kate Hudson goes to her mother Goldie Hawn for advice because she is not "preachy".

The Almost Famous actress recently gave birth to her second child Bingham who joins her elder son Ryder from her first marriage to Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson.

Kate says she has to look no further than her mother to have a good chat about raising a family.

"We've definitely had lots of talks about parenting and being a working mom," she shared in the September issue of Elle magazine.

"She never hands out unsolicited preachy words of wisdom, though. My parents allowed my brother and I to have our freedom and be ourselves and feel confident in our choices and to make mistakes without too much judgment. I hope that I can do as good a job."

Kate is engaged to Muse singer Matthew Bellamy but says she's not in a rush to set a wedding date.

"One thing at a time. We'll say hello to our new one and enjoy that for a while," she said.

She added that she was glad she was with someone who understood her busy lifestyle.

"Most relationships I've had in my life have been with people who travel quite a bit for work," she shared. "I don't know if I'm attracted to that specifically, but it is nice to be with somebody who understands having to be on the move." (C) Cover Media
