Katie Holmes felt trapped in horror movie'

2nd July 2012

Katie Holmes felt like her life had become a real life version of horror movie Rosemary's Baby, sources claim.

In the 1968 film, a young pregnant wife fears for the safety of her unborn child as she is surrounded by peculiar neighbours and occurences.

According to US Weekly, the actress felt suffocated in the controlling environment allegedly imposed on her by her estranged husband and his religion.

It has been claimed that the brunette beauty was constantly monitored and feared for the safety of her daughter with Cruise, six-year-old Suri.

"Every move she made and everything she did was controlled . . . She felt like she was in Rosemary's Baby," the insider told US Weekly. "She felt she had to get out to save her daughter."

Tom, who reportedly didn't see the divorce coming, is said to be "furious".

Meanwhile, reports that Katie has sacked her publicist just days after the shocking split have been confirmed.

The former Dawson's Creek star has returned to the agency that represented her before she began dating the Hollywood icon.

The move is being interpreted as a further sign that Katie is trying to distance herself from her estranged husband and move on with her life.

"Actress Katie Holmes has left her publicist at Slate PR and has signed with BWR Public Relations. Following the announcement of her divorce from Tom Cruise, she is now represented by Leslie Sloane in the New York office and Nanci Ryder in Los Angeles. Katie is set to star alongside Chace Crawford in the upcoming film Responsible Adults which starts filming later this year," an official statement said.
