Indian Television Industry's one of the most successful shows of all time, 'Kaun Banega Crorepati', has been a favourite with audiences. It has had 8 seasons till date and all of these seasons have been successful in their capacity each time.
But unfortunately the last one which ended on November 16 didn't do well on the TRP scale. The makers and the broadcasters were not only surprised at the lukewarm audience response to the show but were reportedly doubtful about bringing it back to the tube.
There were rumors that the show will not have a new season citing the low response it generated in its last season. But the show's head honcho Siddhartha Basu quashed rumors. "Such decisions are never taken so early. The broadcaster takes the call normally when the next season is close. So many things have to be taken into consideration. I have no information either way," he said.
He further added that let alone the end of the show, there have not even been any discussion remotely associated with that. "I have had no discussion on this [with the channel]. At this point, normally it’s (the future of the show) not discussed. Meanwhile, the format is a hit in other parts of the country (in regional languages," he asserted.
Let's hope that the magic of the show and Big B's association with it continues to be with us for long.
