Keerthi Chawla is back to play the female lead after a brief hiatus. She plays heroine to newcomer Arun in a movie titled Kasi kuppam. Besides playing the lead role, Arun has penned the story, screenplay and dialogues and direct the same.

The movie stars Arun, Keerthi Chawla, Sowmya, Livingston and Nellai Siva among others. Cinematography is by Pinajalashaam and music by Balaji.

Talking about the movie, the director says, 'it is about the innocent working class in a Chennai slum. They fall a prey to organ trafficking by an influential man in the society. How they are saved from his clutches forms the crux'.

"It carries a strong message and urges people to be vigilant against wrong-doers," he adds. Shooting is on in Chennai slums and the movie would hit the screens this Deepavali.
