(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kelly Rowland wrote off three cars before she learned to drive properly.
The singer has reminisced about her teenage years for an episode of MTV show When I Was 17. Kelly recalls learning to drive, explaining she struggled to get a handle on steering a vehicle for many months.
“I was a really, really bad driver,” she laughed. “As a matter of fact, I wrecked about three cars before I finally got the whole driving thing down.”
It’s not just Kelly who hates discussing her past mishaps behind the wheel. Several of her friends were also interviewed for the programme, and each one became concerned when asked about Kelly’s driving style.
“Terrible, terrible,” her friend Angie said. “Did I say terrible? Terrible driver.”
Kelly found fame with girlband Destiny’s Child in the 90s. Original member LeToya Luckett also has fond memories of the star’s efforts to manage a vehicle, but refused to reveal too many secrets for fear of embarrassing her friend.
“Tales of Kelly behind the wheel - Lord help us all,” she laughed.
Kelly and LeToya were joined by Beyoncé Knowles and LaTavia Roberson in the girl group, with LeToya and LaTavia later replaced by Farrah Franklin and Michelle Williams. Farrah left the group after around five months. (C) Cover Media
