Kevin Bacon recalls wild past

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kevin Bacon has recalled his wild partying days when he used to dance alone for hours.

The 52-year-old Hollywood actor is one of the movie industry's most revered stars, although his debut days in cinema weren't clean cut or glamorous at all.

Kevin remembers being an aspiring film star in New York and living life on the edge, admitting that he wasn't even scared after being confronted by an armed robber.

"New York was a dangerous place but it never felt dangerous. I worked as a waiter and lived at night on the cash in my pocket," he told British newspaper The Times.

"I had two sides: one was down-and-out Upper West Side, which wasn't smart like today. I went to bars with pool tables, tough-chick waitresses and fights. I was robbed at gunpoint,

"Then I had another life: disco. I'd go to Studio 54 and dance by myself for hours, but it was not a place to pick up girls because I never had the money to buy that much coke."

Kevin did worry that his crazy shenanigans could ruin his chances of success though, so he urged himself to remain focused on acting. The star does confess he was a little too arrogant though.

"I remember once staying out late, getting f**ked up and missing an audition, and thinking, Wait a second, you gotta keep your eyes on the prize'," he added.

"I wasn't a diva or pain in the ass, but when I was younger I thought, forgivably, I knew everything there was to know. I was definitely cocky."

One of Kevin's early parts was portraying a rent boy in 1982 drama Forty Deuce, and he says preparing for the role put him in some risky situations. The star always managed to talk himself out of danger though.

"To research the role I pretended to be a hustler in these bars on 42nd Street and guys would try and pick me up. I said I was this young chicken' from out of town," he explained, before confirming he never actually had sex with those who enquired.

"No, I would always tell them I was waiting for my john [client]." (C) Cover Media
