(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kim Kardashian is back in Los Angeles after a brief visit to Minnesota.

The 31-year-old reality star had flown to see her estranged husband Kris Humphries at his home in Chanhassen.

And although there are rumours that the pair may be headed for reconciliation, Us Weekly claims that the meeting with the pastor who married them back in August was just so they could get "closure."

"Things were escalating very quickly with them," the source told the publication. "There were emails that were getting hostile."

Kim and Kris were married for just 72 and she filed for divorce on October 31 before jetting off on a promotional trip to Australia.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians starlet apparently wanted to see Kris before things got out of control in court, and in the media.

"She wanted to see him face to face to put some finality on it," the insider added. "To give them both some closure. She didn't want things to get ugly with them and it was heading down that road."

"She's been having a really, really hard time. She's mourning the end of this relationship which despite, what everyone thinks, was very real."

Another pal said that the visit which was less than 24 hours was "very good. Kim and Kris got a good understanding of their relationship."

Kim faced a backlash after ending her short lived marriage amid claims that the lavish $10 million nuptials were a hoax just to make money and for publicity. (C) Cover Media
