(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lady Gaga says the only controversy that the Judas promo features is a clash of designer attire.
The 25-year-old songstress premiered the tracks video yesterday. The singer is seen portraying Mary Magdalene and actor Norman Reedus stars as Judas - the traitor who betrayed Jesus Christ - with Gaga singing that she is in love with him.
The eccentric songstress incurred the wrath of religious figures after releasing the track, which they say features blasphemous undertones. Gaga has laughed off the outrage, insisting the only worries she had was about her wardrobe.
"In my opinion, the only controversial thing about this video is that I'm wearing Christian Lacroix and Chanel in the same frame," she said in an interview with E! Online.
Gaga is best known for shaking up modern pop music. The global star has fast become one of the biggest stars on the planet following the release of her debut single Just Dance in 2008, and shes proud of what shes achieved.
"I believe I was put on this earth to cause a ruckus," she explained. "At the beginning, when I came out with Just Dance, I couldn't get an interview... I couldn't get on the radio. I just want to keep making stuff that's great and thought-provoking."
Gaga love the promo for Judas, which she believes is perfect for the track. The song, which is featured on her new album Born This Way, surpasses her wildest expectations.
"Honestly, it came out more incredible than I thought it would. It's so beautiful. It's like a fresco come to life. We went on set and we just shot the sh*t out of it," she said.
The videos director Laurieann Gibson was delighted to helm it. She also acts as Gagas choreographer and pushed the star to her limits to achieve the most dramatic results.
So at the end of the day, you saw how amazing she looks beautiful she's dancing again. And it's just great because I was able to produce the next level: who she is, how many levels she can go and the idea that this artist is a real artist and capable," she said. (C) Cover Media
