(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lil Wayne is considering retirement after the release of his upcoming album.

The 28-year-old is working on his ninth studio album Tha Carter IV, which is due to be released in August of this year.

The rapper, who has recently worked with Jennifer Lopez and Kelly Rowland, has had a highly successful hip-hop career, but insists he is looking towards the end of a career in the spotlight.

"I'm bowing out still on top," he revealed in an interview with XXL magazine. "I'ma make y'all want me when I retire. I'ma make y'all be like, Nooo!' I ain't leaving out this b**ch when y'all be like, Yeah, it's about time, dawg.' Carter IV might be my last one. I'ma make y'all be like, F**k!' Yeah, n***a, I'm gone."

Wayne is keen to spend more time with his four children. The star, real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., says he has plugged all of his energy into creating a successful name for himself in the music industry and now wants to concentrate on his family.

"Honestly, this is the real truth, I honestly think it's unfair to my kids. I'm super dedicated into what I do. Like, it's no questionsit's hands down, I do this. I live this," he explained. "I don't have a day out my week that I do something else. I do this every day of my life, and I'm not about to stop, 'cause that's the only way you can succeed in this business, is to do it the way I do it. I want to succeed the way I want to succeed. You can succeed."

Wayne says his perfectionist nature means he works round the clock. The hip-hop star is aware that his conscientious nature is not allowing him to be the hands-on dad that he'd like to be.

"You can put out a hit But to do it the way I want to do it, to be comfortable to do what the f**k I want to do, you've got to work like no other. Like I said, it's unfair to my kids. So about 30, 31, 32, I gotta get ready," he added. (C) Cover Media
