Lily Collins is "dying" to do a British period drama as she can "do the accent without trying".
The actress is starring in Snow White remake Mirror Mirror and learnt a variety of new skills before filming began.
Lily says the movie was fun to shoot, but has expressed her interest in acting in another popular film genre. The 22-year-old star was born in England, but moved to Los Angeles when she was five after her parents musician Phil Collins and Jill Tavelman divorced.
"I learnt sword-fighting and fencing!" she exclaimed to Company magazine about her role in Mirror Mirror. "Spending time in Montreal by myself [during shooting] I felt like I grew up. And hey, maybe I can use my new stunt skills in a British drama one day....
"Ahhh, I'm dying to do a period drama and I totally got into Downton [Abbey] over the holidays. Plus, I can do the accent without trying!"
Lily also talked about the perks and perils of fame. Growing up as the daughter of a very successful musician, the star says she is clued up on how to conduct herself in the entertainment industry.
"It's still weird I'm on Google!" she laughed. "But you know, I've grown up seeing the pros and cons of fame and it didn't stop me doing what I'm doing. It's fascinating that people care, but I want to live my life the way I would as if no one did care.
"I don't want to have to compromise, so I just need to be smart about it."
