Lindsay Lohan advised to focus on personal life

22nd September 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lindsay Lohan has been advised to put her career on hold by friends, according to a source.

The actress spent 13 days in jail and 23 days in rehab earlier this year after she violated the terms of her 2007 conviction for Driving Under the Influence (DUI). She has to undergo random weekly drugs tests as part of her court order, and failed one of them last week resulting in a California judge issued a warrant for her arrest on Monday. The warrant has been placed on hold until Friday morning at 8.30am when the star must appear before Judge Eldon Fox at Los Angeles Superior Court.

Although the actresss career had been looking promising lately, it is thought that Lindsays loved-ones have been urging her to abandon her acting commitments and focus on overcoming her alleged drug problem.

"She has to focus on her disease and begin the recovery process. She needs to get out of Hollywood, and away from the people that enable her," a source close to Lindsay told RadarOnline.

In the next 45 days Lindsay is due to begin shooting the lead role in movie Inferno, a biopic of the pornographic actress Linda Lovelace. However, it is believed the star has been advised to spend time in rehab rather than on movie sets.

"Lindsay has been told that she needs intensive inpatient rehab for at least nine months. The last thing Lindsay should be doing right now is working, added the source. "What is abundantly clear to everyone is that the last thing Lindsay should be doing right now is work. Lindsay wants to work, and is resisting the idea of not working. She knows she needs help, but she has contractual obligations, and she needs the money.

Lindsay announced she had failed the drugs test on Twitter, and said she was determined to take responsibility for her actions. (C) Cover Media
