(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lindsay Lohan and her mother have reportedly been involved in a violent argument, with police rushing to the scene.

The troubled Hollywood actress and her mom Dina Lohan left a nightclub in New York City at around 4am this morning and returned to Dina's house in Long Island. According to TMZ, the pair had a heated disagreement in the car on their way home. The argument allegedly turned physical on their arrival at the house and Lindsay suffered a cut to her leg during the scuffle.

The website reports some items of property were also damaged, along with a bracelet Lindsay was wearing at the time.

Police were quickly alerted to the incident during a 911 phone call, in which the caller claimed Lindsay was being held against her will by Dina and the driver.

Officers responded to what has been described as a domestic violence call and were still believed to be on the scene at the time of writing.

This is the latest in a long line of police run-ins for Lindsay.

The 26-year-old star recently alleged she had been attacked in a Manhattan hotel room by a man she met in a nightclub.

She accused Christian LaBella of taking photographs of her on his cell phone without her consent and of trying to choke her when she discovered them.

Charges of misdemeanour assault and harassment were later dropped.

After the incident, Dina was quick to speak out about her concern for her daughter.

"I am relieved to have my daughter safely at home with me," she told ET. "She is understandably rattled and quite shaken by what she experienced." (C) Cover Media
