Lindsay Lohan taken into custody

24th September 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lindsay Lohan was taken into custody today after she was denied bail for failing court-ordered drug tests.

Lindsay arrived at the Los Angeles Superior Court wearing sunglasses, a dark blazer and a cream pleated skirt. She was accompanied by her mother, Dina Lohan, and her attorney, Shawn Chapman Holly.

The stars father Michael Lohan who has a famously tumultuous relationship with the star - was held outside the courtroom doors and shouted I love you as the actress entered the building.

Lindsay was ordered to appear before Judge Elden Fox after a warrant was issued for her arrest on Monday after she failed at least one court-ordered random weekly drug test.

The 24-year-old troubled star spent 13 days in jail and 23 days in rehab earlier this year after she violated the terms of her 2007 conviction for Driving Under the Influence (DUI).

Judge Fox agreed to let Lindsay leave her court ordered 90-day rehab stint early but warned her she would be sentenced to one month in jail for each drug test she failed or missed.

It is not known what drugs Lindsay tested positive for. However, there have been reports it was amphetamines and cocaine.

At todays hearing Judge Fox did not hear any arguments from the lawyers before he made his ruling.

It had been expected the judge would remand Lindsay before setting bail, allowing her to post bail and walk free until a formal hearing was scheduled for next month.

Lindsay appeared shocked and turned to look at her attorney as she was handcuffed in the court and taken into custody. It is believed the star could be held until her formal probation hearing on October 22.

She will spend her time behind bars at the Lynwood Correctional Facility.

Earlier this week it was claimed Lindsay was terrified of being locked up again. Those close to the actress were said to be keen for her to avoid further jail time and instead be sent to a rehab facility to help her get clean.

Lindsay previously served 84 minutes of a one-day prison sentence when she pleaded guilty to cocaine use and DUI. (C) Cover Media
