(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jennifer Lopez was "in a lot of pain" following the birth of her children.

The superstar shares four-year-old twins Max and Emme with estranged husband Marc Anthony.

Jennifer recalls the arduous time period she experienced just after she delivered her bundles of joy.

"I remember sitting in my bed with these twins and I had a C-section and I was obviously in a lot of pain and I said no painkillers because I don't drink, I don't smoke,' " she told British newspaper The Mirror. "But I am going crazy from the pain and I want to hold the babies but I can't because it hurts too much. So I had to have this baby nurse helping out."

"I started crying and Marc said the babies love you, trust me. They don't even know anything yet'. I'm like, No, I'm their mother, I should be holding them'."

Jennifer consulted the eponymous manual that her upcoming movie What to Expect When You're Expecting is based on for advice on how to cope.

"[The book] made it so much better because you do really feel out of sorts and you don't know what's going on," she shared. "And so in that sense it's just a great tool book." (C) Cover Media
