Madhur Bhandarkar has made a space for himself in the industry today. He is one of those filmmakers that can be completely banked upon and many production houses are now ready to put their money in his national award winning films. But Madhur too had his own share of problems that he had to face before he made it big.
He started his career as an assistant director to Ram Gopal Varma, for his film 'Rangeela' and then went on to make his own film 'Trishakti' that starred Arshad Warsi. The film took more than three years to complete and then was considered dated and tanked terribly at the box office.
Madhur shared that after the film tanked, he had become completely hopeless about his career. Then came in 'Chandni Bar', 'Page 3', and more, and he started getting his due respect in the industry.
His next release is 'Heorine' starring Kareena Kapoor that hits the screens this week and we are sure this one too will be a strong contender at the National Film Awards.
