Mark Wahlberg: I ate ten meals a day

22nd June 2012

Mark Wahlberg was eating "ten meals a day" to bulk up for his upcoming movie.

The actor is currently starring in comedy Ted, but took some time to answer questions about his next project.

The star has already commenced shooting Pain and Gain, an action drama due out in 2013 about a pair of bodybuilders who get caught up in a criminal scheme.

The Hollywood hunk said gaining muscle mass for a realistic portrayal of a fitness pro was no mean feat.

"I was eating ten meals a day and drinking mass gainers," he told E! Online at the Hollywood premiere of Ted. "I was drinking my own. I created this line of supplements with GNC."

Mark added that while it was tough to put on the huge amount of muscles, he enjoys changing his physique for his movie roles.

The 41-year-old explained that the process is as much about the mental as the physical challenge.

"It was a lot of work. A lot of getting up at two in the morning to eat another meal and I was still full from the meal at ten o'clock," he said. "You know, I like being able to change for parts, both physically and preparing mentally. It was a good time."
