Mark Wahlberg movie doubts

28th June 2012

Mark Wahlberg thought his new comedy movie involving a stuffed toy was a "little too out there" at first.

The Hollywood hunk is starring in the Seth MacFarlane-directed comedy Ted, which follows the story of a man and his teddy bear.

Mark was initially concerned about taking on such a quirky script.

"It was a little too out there. I wasn't exactly looking to do a movie with a teddy bear," he admitted to USA Today.

"Thirty pages in, and I was sold. It's really a story about friendship, relationships you forget it's about a bear."

Mark stars alongside Mila Kunis in the movie. The actress felt protected by her co-star on set.

"The moment he comes on set, he feels like a big brother," she gushed. "I just felt, if I ever needed it, he'd stand up for me."

Mila wasn't the only person impressed with Mark's attitude and professionalism. Filmmaker Seth was convinced the star was perfect for the off-beat role.

"He doesn't get enough credit for it, but Mark is a guy of a million different colours," he said.

"There really was a very short list of actors who could have played this part. The idea of the bear's existence is ridiculous enough. The rest had to be realistic and there aren't many guys who can pull off an R-rated comedy."
