The 40-year-old actor has enjoyed a successful movie career, winning the best screenplay Oscar alongside Ben Affleck for 1997s Good Will Hunting, and starring in a host of other movies such as Saving Private Ryan, the Oceans trilogy, and the Bourne series.

Regardless of his successful film career and his hopes for more accomplishments in the future, the one thing Matt doesnt want to look back and regret is that he didnt feast on enough of the frozen treat.

A great philosopher on her death bed said she would have done three things differently. She would have been nicer to everybody, she would have cared less about what people thought of her, and she would have eaten more ice cream. I dont want to leave this planet thinking I could have eaten more ice cream, he told the British edition of Glamour.

Matt is happily married to Luciana Bozn Barroso and the couple raise four daughters together; Isabella, four, two-year-old Gia, Stella, who was born in October and Alexia, Lucianas daughter from another relationship.

Matt was waiting for someone like Luciana to come along, and he appreciates having his wife and kids to share his experiences with now he has turned 40. Throughout his 30s, the actor was concerned he wouldnt ever start a family.

I knew intellectually that I wanted to have kids and move on with my life, but I couldnt really imagine it. I just hadnt met her [Luciana] yet and I was extremely aware of that. Turning 30, there was so much in my life that was unresolved, but turning 40 I didnt feel anything, there wasnt a hiccup. It felt wonderful to have an amazing and beautiful wife and children and from a work perspective things are going really well, he said.

The pair ensure they remain close by spending as much time as possible together, even when Matt is shooting movies. He admits it isnt always as easy as hed like, and plans to make more time for friends as he gets older.

Its tough to keep up with everyone because weve all got families. I want to do a better job in my 40s than my 30s of keeping in touch, he added. (C) Cover Media
