Mick Jagger relies on solid bandmates

21st January 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Sir Mick Jagger needs support from his band in order to perform.

The lead singer of The Rolling Stones is famous for being hard-working and industrious, and expecting the same from his band. Ronnie Wood, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts are also in the group, and each of them knows Mick needs a certain level of emotional help when they are together.

Ronnie has also worked with Rod Stewart the pair formed the Faces together but refuses to say who he prefers teaming up with. They both have different likes and the tender spots you steer clear of. Theyre both fun to work with and Ive a great understanding with both, he explained. With Mick its always very diligent and serious he says he needs the support I give him, he needs us to be solid and there for him. I do my best to provide that.

Ronnie found working with Rod relaxing, as they often didnt have much of a plan when they hit the studio with the rest of the band. They preferred to let things flow organically, which was a lot of fun for everyone involved.

We used to design things in the pub before the session, during the session and after the session. Most of what we did came by accident, he told Uncut magazine. Rod would often have a rough arrangement, the lyrics and an idea of what he wanted the song to sound like, but apart from that we were allowed to do our thing. (C) Cover Media
