Lingusamy directed recent Tamil film "Vettai", which hit the screens in Tamil Nadu for Pongal (Sankaranthi), is set to be remade in Telugu. Buzz is that young hero Naga Chaitanya would play the role played by Arya in the original.
'The film is about two brothers, who fight against evil elements in the society. While Naga Chaitanya will play the younger brother, a popular actor will do the role of the elder brother, played by Madhavan in the Tamil version,' sources say.
Buzz is that Lingusamy himself would direct the Telugu version too, with Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul, who played the leading ladies in "Vettai", repeating their roles. 'They performed well their roles and hence this decision,' sources say.
Tamil director Lingusamy is a name to reckon with in Tollywood too, with some of his Tamil films, including "Sandakozhi" ("Pandhyam Kodi") and "Paiyaa" ("Aavara"), dubbed and released in Andhra Pradesh, and collected good revenues.
