5th January 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Nas has revealed he got used to working with Damian Marley and considered ending his solo pursuits.

The 37-year-old rapper has enjoyed phenomenal success in the realm of hip hop, and last year released a collaborative studio album called Distant Relatives with Jamaican reggae artist Damian.

Nas spent 2010 touring to support the acclaimed record, and he admits he felt so at ease collaborating with the reggae star it made him question his desire to work alone again.

"I been so caught up into me and [Damian's] thing that I started to get used to it," he explained.

"Like, I didn't want to do the solo thing for a while. Me and D have just been doing our thing, reaching millions of people, but it's that time."

Despite these doubts, Nas knows he still loves the thrill of performing and recording alone too. The rappers latest material is due out later on in the year, and hes taking a philosophical approach to his career. The star was a huge fan of late music legend Michael Jackson, and he laments the fact the talented artist never got to reach his full potential. However, Michaels death taught Nas that you can only ever try your best in music.

"I look at Michael Jackson, and before he passed away, I can only imagine the pressure he had to live up to for the next moonwalk," he continued to MTV News. "And the reality is physically, he wasn't able to live up to that. I would have loved to see him come up with the next level, without even dancing, just using his creativity. It's all about evolving and that's what I want to do, evolve." (C) Cover Media
