Masala Mountain

Expectations ran high for NTR Junior's Oosaravelli, this year's Vijayadasami release, for more than one reasons. For it is the actor's much talked about movie in the recent times. And it is directed by Surendar Reddy, who gave the blockbuster 'Kick' a couple of years ago.

First half of the film is nice with decent entertainment. The foundation of the story which comes in the second half should have been stronger. Having said that, there is no denial that the film is a complete treat to the fans of NTR Junior.

The chemistry shared between NTR and Tamannah in this movie is great, especially in song sequences. With Prakash Raj, Shayaji Shinde and other talents around, Oosaravelli is a mass entertainer for this festival weekend.

Tony (NTR) is a rough and tough gangster in Mumbai, who is popular for crimes for a pay. He lands in Hyderabad on a particular mission, where he meets Niharika (Tammanah). 

But Niharika is engaged to some other rich guy. Even as Tony has a secret mission and he is in hot pursuit of somebody, enters Azzhu Bhai (Prakash Raj), a dreaded don. What follows is a  cat and mouse game where some secrets are revealed in the flashback.

NTR is different in terms of his styling and acting. His performance in the flashback episode is excellent. Tamannah has done an important role, something straight contrast to what heroines in commercial movies do. Prakash Raj and Shayaji Shinde prove that they are veterans, though the latter has been wasted.

Devisri Prasad's music adds major value to the movie, be it songs or background score. Dialogues are crisp, while cinematography by Rasool Ellore is great. 

Though the film is a commercial entertainer where one should not mind about logic, Oosaravelli might look as an ordinary entertainer for general audience. But for the fans of NTR, it is a feast this Dasara.
