R.Balki-directed 'Padman' featuring Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte has raked 59 crores in just six days. The film is socially provoking and spreading health awareness regarding women's menstrual hygiene.
Going strong with some good word of mouth publicity and followed by public holiday of Mahashivratri, the film's business has picked up and it is still going strong at the box-office. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced Padman's box office collection with his tweet that read ''#PadMan is SUPER-STRONG... Fri 10.26 cr, Sat 13.68 cr, Sun 16.11 cr, Mon 5.87 cr, Tue 6.12 cr, Wed 7.05 cr. Total: ₹ 59.09 cr. India biz." Almost 60 cr is 6 days averaging 10 cr per day is what someone can easily expect with the Akshay Kumar film.
Many famous faces from Bollywood came forward to show their support for Akshay and took his challenge by posting pictures of themselves with sanitary pads on their respective social media handles. The next two days are going to be crucial as Neeraj Pandey's 'Aiyaary' hits theatres as well. Many trade analysts predict that this Akshay Kumar film will easily cross the 100 crores mark.
