Actress Pooja Gandhi aka Sanjana, who was part of many successful south Indian movies, has expressed willingness to enroll herself as a member of Janata Dal (Secular), one of the leading political parties in Karnataka.
JD(S) state women’s wing president, Jyoti Reddy, said that Pooja has evinced keen interest in joining JD(S). Jyoti added that the actress would be formally admitted into the party after she meets party leader Kumaraswamy.
Confirming the news while speaking to a news agency, State JD(S) spokesperson Y S V Datta said the actress visited the JD(S) office along the Race Course Road and held discussions with party leaders.
Datta was quoted as saying that Pooja has been associated with JD(S) for "quite some time" through Kannada film producer and JD(S) leader E Krishnappa who had produced the super hit film "Mungaru Male" starring her.
