Prabhu Deva and his wife Ramalath aka Latha appeared before a family court in connection with their divorce case on Saturday when their petition, seeking divorce by mutual consent, came up for hearing before the additional family court judge Pandian.

According to P Anandan, counsel for Latha, the judge recorded the evidence and posted the case to July 7 for judgment. Remember that a joint affidavit, signed by the couple, was submitted in the family court on December 29, 2010.

The final settlement was fixed for hearing after six months (on June 30) but both the parties failed to appear on the said date. They appeared on Saturday. Prabhu's relationship with actress Nayanthara is well known and there is widespread speculation that he will tie the knot with her in August.

Nayanthara has not signed any new films since Prabhu allegedly has asked her not to. He prefers her not to act.
