Superstar Rajinikanth utilised the Kumki audio launch event in Chennai on Thursday to thank his fans, who prayed for his good health when he suffered from kidney ailment last year.

It was a pleasant surprise for everyone who had attended the event, for the Superstar's name was not there in the invitation. 

'When Prabhu (father of Vikram Prabhu, the protagonist of Kumki) invited me for the event, I expressed my inability. But this morning, I realised that I should attend the event. Because Prabhu is my thambi (younger brother),' said Rajini.

Kamal released the first copy of the audio album and it was received by Suriya. Directed by Prabhu Solomon, Kumki has music by D Imman. It is produced by Lingusamy's Tirupathi Brothers Film Media Pvt Ltd.
