Superstar Rajinikanth on Saturday night attended his first public function post his illness. Sporting a white shirt and blue jeans, the numero uno actor of Tamil cinema sat on stage for more than two hours, at an event to felicitate ace filmmaker S P Muthuraman.
"I am completely fit and fine, thanks to the blessings and prayers of my fans, well-wishers and friends. There could be no better occasion than this to declare to the world that I am alright and ready to act again," Rajini said.
Recalling his association with Muthuraman, the Superstar said, "I have worked with him in 25 films. He wanted me to just send a greeting letter for this function. How could I do so? My relationship with him so special.’
And delivering the good news for his millions of fans, Rajini said, "I promise that I will continue to act and entertain my fans as long as possible. I cannot act as well as Shivaji Ganesan or Kamal Haasan. It’s my energy and style that has kept me going. So I will stand in front of the camera as long as the speed exists in my body."
