When Superstar Rajinikanth came to know that his good friend Amitabh Bachchan was in Chennai on Tuesday to take part in the inaugural of Indian Premier League (IPL), he drove straight to the hotel where Big B was staying and met him.

Expressing happiness on his microblogging page, Amitabh wrote: 'Rajinikanth pays me visit in my room ! Looks recovered from his recent illness..thank God ! Always a delight to spend time with him.'

If sources are to be believed, Amitabh wanted to visit Rajini at the latter's home but Rajini felt that it would be appropriate only if he called on the Bollywood top star. 'The two chatted for a long time and discussed many old things,' sources said.

Only last weekend, Rajini hailed the Big B in London, stating that Amitabh Bachchan is the only one who can be called a superstar.

When reporters asked about how he felt about being a superstar, Rajinikanth, who was in the UK to shoot his upcoming film Kochadaiyaan, said, 'For me, the only superstar is Amitabh Bachchan.'
