Ranveer's Gujarati connection, 'Ram Leela'

4th September 2012

Ranveer Singh recently commenced the shooting of the film 'Ram Leela' that will be the screen adaptation of William Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet'

The story concept that originated in English literature will be tweaked to suit Indian sensibilities, and as from what we hear, the story will have a Gujarati backdrop in the film.

Ranveer confessed that in order to pick the local dialect and mannerisms, he had been to Gujarat for five days, visiting Bhuj, Rajkot and Ahemdabad to observe the behavior and antics of the locals there. The actor indulged in Gujarati food as well. He says that the idea of going to Gujrat was to prepare for the role and absorb the Gujarati flavor before playing the character in the film.

With Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone playing the lead roles, the film freshly went on floors, beginning the shoot with an action sequence.
